Club Day – Sunday 25 July

Club Day – Sunday 25 July

This year’s Club Day is taking place on Sunday 25 July.

We have decided that this year we will be using the day to support the fundraising that Mike and Alison Aplin are doing for Maggie’s Centres.

Mike and Alison have already raised a fantastic amount of money for this great charity and we would love to help them raise even more.

We will be having a cake stall and barbecue for players and spectators as part of the fundraising. Offers of cakes for the stall will be warmly received.

There will also be a raffle and we will be selling tickets over the coming weeks. Prizes include a hamper, packs of beer from Marstons, a signed bat from Notts, a cricket kit bag and practice net. Please look out for the people selling the tickets at the Strand. If you are able to donate a prize (or know someone who can) please let me know.

Mike Blatherwick of B3 Bats (https://b3cricket.com/) has also kindly donated a bat to help the fundraising. We will be selling squares in a 100 square grid at £5 per square. Mike has agreed to wait until the winner is drawn to donate the bat so that we can have the competition open to junior and senior cricketers. We will be selling the squares in the lead up to the Club Day and will draw the winning square and the raffle on 25 July.

We plan to involve as many people as possible in the Club Day and we are currently putting plans in place for it. More details will follow once the arrangements are finalised.

Throughout the day we will be running a tournament between those players who play for the Senior Cricket teams as in previous years. To help us prepare for this, please let me know by 20 July if you would like to play in these matches so we can organise teams.

It would be great to see as many people at the Strand on 25 July as I am sure it will be an enjoyable day for us all.

Best wishes,
