Scorers needed!

Scorers needed!

• Attenborough Cricket club are looking for scorers for the 2024 season for the 1st XI and 2nd XI Saturday teams. Matches are played between mid-April and mid-September.

• Having a scorer for a game makes a huge difference and it’s a very important role in making a successful game.

• We would love to be in a position to build a team of people who can help fulfil this role for the club, which would enable us to share the commitment across the summer.

• Our goal is to find a number of people who can score for these teams on a rotational basis so that we can share the work. However, if you are able to commit to most or all of the season then that isn’t a problem.

• It might suit you if you love watching cricket or be of interest if you want to get involved in the Club or are even doing a Duke of Edinburgh award.

• Full training will be provided to get you up to speed before the start of the season. We have some pre-season games scheduled for the first two weeks in April, which will be ideal opportunities to get some trial experience.

• The Nottinghamshire Premier League (1st XI) matches start at 11.30am and the South Notts Cricket League matches (2nd XI) start at 12.30pm. The scorer should ideally be at the ground half an hour before the start of the match.

• Games could last 7 to 8 hours and can be weather dependent.

• Scoring is now completed on a computer or iPad and for home matches the scorer would also need to operate the electronic scoreboard. Training will be given on how to use the equipment.

• Home matches are at The Strand, Attenborough. The distance to away matches can vary. As the Premier League matches cover all of Nottinghamshire some of the games can be about an hour’s drive away. We can help with lifts if required.

• If you would like to find out more, know someone who would love to get involved, or would like to register your interest in helping, please contact Lisa Jones 07772551516.

• The scorer’s role includes expenses – Saturday 1st XI £50 and Saturday 2nd XI £40.
