Cricket at home – coaches challenge 3Arjun Sandhu
Firstly, many thanks for all the results sent through so far for challenge 2, please continue to send them through, you have until midday tomorrow to be make sure they are included in the latest leaderboard. I am sure you agree that todays challenge would have been made more much difficult by the constant rain, lets hope for better weather tomorrow. The Coaches Challenge for Wednesday is as follows :-
Challenge 3 – Bucket shot
Equipment – 1 tennis ball or soft ball ( you can use more than 1 ball if you have them ) & 1 bucket ( or similar size container like a plant pot / laundry basket )
i ) this is a skill game to try and throw the ball into a bucket which is 2m away.
ii) the challenge is two fold – firstly throw the ball into the bucket in the least amount of attempts
– and secondly see how many times out of 20 you can get the ball into the bucket ( if the ball bounces in and out of the bucket that counts as a half score !)
You can have as many goes as you like at the second part of the challenge but your score needs to be out of 20 consecutive throws.
Coaches Tips :
a) You may find it easier to bounce ( one bounce ) the ball into the bucket
b) if you are struggling you can move the bucket near to a wall so you could also get rebounds into the bucket like on this link
c) as an alternative move the bucket nearer
Please email me by 12 noon on thurs 30 April the following :-
a) child’s name
b) the amount of attempts it takes to get the ball into the bucket for the 1st time –
c) number of throws out of 20 which went into the bucket –
Bonus points will be awarded for the lowest number of attempts to get the first ball in the bucket and also the highest number of successes in a consecutive 20 throws sequence.
I will email the 4th challenge out tomorrow night for Thursday. Please let me know if you have any queries.
Many thanks and stay safe.
