Cricket at Home – Coaches Challenge 16 – ‘beat the coach bowling’Arjun Sandhu
Next week the daily challenges will be an activity to try and beat the coach.
For Monday the challenge is a one stump ( or something similar ) bowling challenge. You have 6 balls ( 1 over ) to hit the one stump about 10m away. Although the coaches only had one attempt at this challenge, you can have 3 goes to beat the coach ( 3 overs ). You can have as many goes as you like but if you do it after the third attempt you have beat the coach after more practice ( which is still pretty cool ) !
Challenge 16 – one stump bowling
Equipment: 1 tennis ball and 1 stump ( or something similar size like a stick or chalk mark on wall /fence )
Activity as above
Don’t forget you have 6 balls to beat the coaches scores below and to give you more of a chance you can have 3 goes to beat the coach. You can have as many goes after that to try and beat the coach after more practice.
The worst coach score for this challenge is 2 out of 6 so you need to hit it 3 times to beat the coach
However, the best coach score for this challenge is 3 out of 6 so you need to hit it 4 times to beat all the coaches !
a) Dont forget the star shape with your body and keep your bowling arm straight through to delivery.
b) Keep your head still throughout and focus your eyes on the landing area
c) You can do this as a standing start and dont forget to follow through with your bowling action to gather momentum.
