A Message from the Chairman – To All Members

A Message from the Chairman – To All Members

During these difficult times I feel it is timely to try to give you an update on where we are with the club and cricket going forward. At this moment in time following guidelines from the ECB and the Nottinghamshire Cricket Board we cannot see any cricket being played until July at the earliest, but you can rest assured that we will be ready to start as soon as it is safe to do so. Mike is working on the ground, in line with government guidelines on social distancing, & reports that it is in good condition & will be ready for play whoever we get the go-ahead.

This is the most difficult time we, as a club, have had to manage as we still have the running costs of the club & ground but no incoming revenue. The committee has put initial plans in place to see us through these troubled times however we cannot accurately forecast the long term financial impact we may face.

With this in mind, when we do eventually start playing cricket again at The Strand, I would ask all members to come along & support us over the weekends & also on Tuesday evenings when the bar is also open. We will also try our best to keep you updated regarding fixtures, social events & any other occasions when the bar will be open.

Finally, on behalf of myself and the committee we hope that you & your families stay safe and keep well.

Kind Regards,

Paul Shoemaker
Attenborough Cricket Club Chairman
