The 3rd team were successful in winning the Division F South play-off Final vs Gedling & Sherwood at The Strand last Saturday.

Gedling & Sherwood batted first posting 187 for 8 in their 40 overs. With the wickets shared around between Chas Simkiss (3), Lewis Caine (2), Jago Barham-Morris (2) and Lucas Rhodes (1)

In reply the Squirrels managed to chase it down in 36.5 overs with only losing 4 wickets in a superbly executed run chase.

Max Goodings top scoring with 79 not out other main contributors were Tom Benton (35) and Sam Randall (41). The partnership for the 3rd wicket between Max and Sam of 92 was a joy to watch with a few big 6s in there to delight the home crowd.

As we are still in uncertain times with the Coronavirus it was great to see the strand full of supporters and people associated with Attenborough. I hope we have managed to entertain a few people along the way this season whilst giving our younger players the opportunity to show their skills.

Without having the University or Barracks this season we have managed to get all the games played which is a great effort from the committee and to extend the season by winning a couple of play-off games was an amazing achievement from all the players who have played this season.

Winter well and stay safe and lets hope we can have a full campaign next year where all our teams will be challenging towards the top end of the table.
