Having been in the role of Club Chairman for the last 10 years, (and served the club in other coaching and administrative roles for 14 years prior) I have decided that this year is to be my last as Chairman. I will be stepping down at our AGM, in November 2019.
I have worked with many Attenborough CC committee members during what has probably been the most challenging and successful period in the club's history both on and off the pitch. They should be extremely proud of their achievements. Ten years ago our 1st team were at a low ebb, having just been relegated to Division B of the SNCL. Our senior and junior membership was falling and at that time we could not play any games at The Strand due to the flood defence wall being installed. Not ideal!
Fast forward 10 years and we have our 1st team playing in the Notts Premier League, record senior & junior membership, a thriving social scene, and facilities that are the envy of other clubs - being a real benefit to the local community. Having experienced substantial 'one off' costs over the last 10 years in rebuilding our Pavilion and installing a new scorebox, it is also pleasing to report that an appropriate level of reserves are held by the club to ensure that it can continue to develop into the future.
So, a great time and opportunity for someone to come forward and take on the prestigious role of Chairman of Attenborough CC, leading the club into its next era.
