Stage 1 Umpires Course 
This is designed to give you an overview of the basic Laws of the game and how to apply them and introduce the principles of field craft and match management. It will give you the tools to enable you to umpire matches at the basic recreational level where there are no independent umpires appointed.
Where: Trent Bridge Cricket Ground (Radcliffe Road Stand)
Sunday 27th January, 3rd & 10th February 2019
9.30am – 12.30pm
Cost: £30, which includes a Resource pack & first year membership of ECB ACO (membership is optional and subject to meeting application criteria). You will also receive a £20 discount code to apply for Stage Two on registration.

This course is designed to build on Umpire Education Stage One, covering further Laws and exploring the concept of working as part of a team with a colleague and the scorers. It is intended to introduce you to the skills and knowledge required to be a member of a league panel. Once you have completed the course, we recommend that you refresh your understanding of the Laws covered and study them more thoroughly by referring to the MCC on-line Laws resource.

Details: This course will run over 3 Sundays and is being run specifically to support umpires looking to officiate in the Bassetlaw & District Cricket League and will incorporate match regulations used within that league.

Trent Bridge Cricket Ground (Radcliffe Road Stand)
Sunday 24th March & 14th April 2019
9.30am – 4.30pm
Details: This course takes place over two Sundays. The course is run specifically to support umpires looking to officiate in the South Notts Cricket League and will incorporate match regulations used within that league.

Introduction to Scoring -
The aim of this course is to identify and practise the basic skills with which to record a cricket match. It doesn’t cover everything, but it will give you the tools to get started, including: 
  • • Scoring record (scoresheet)
  • • Umpire’s signals
  • • Scoring symbols
  • • Recording wickets and extras
  • • Scoresheet balancing
The course costs £30 with the price including a backpack, workbook and the assessment at the end of the relevant award.
The course is free to under 18s in full-time education and includes the opportunity to apply or renew a DBS accreditation, which is essential for all scorers.

There are also scoring courses to assist with electronic scoring and using scoring apps.  Both of the courses below are free to attend:
PCS App Scoring – 24th February 1pm to 4pm at Trent Bridge
This workshop will concentrate on the PCS App electronic scoring facility. It will be suitable for scorers with no, or limited, experience of using the App on an iPad or other tablet device. The event is free and attendance at the workshop (which is limited to twenty places) will be available to ACO members AND non-members of the Association. Scorers attending the event will be required to bring with them an iPad (or similar tablet device) with the PCS App already installed.

Play Cricket Scorer Pro – 24th February 1pm to 4pm at Trent Bridge
This one-day workshop will take you through scoring using PCS Pro from setting up a match to printing out a scorecard or a player’s wagon wheel and will give you some handy hints on how to make amendments as quickly as possible, while play continues.
