Dear parents and guardians,
We are delighted to share details of our winter training sessions. We have made a few changes, due in part to the facilities at Bramcote; the number of players in the kwik group and also to try and ensure players have a session every week. These sessions are booked at the Barn, Bramcote College on Moor Lane (same as last year) from 10th January to 5th April (missing out half term 21st/22nd Feb).
On Thursday night (Kwik cricket):
Starting 10 Jan - between 5.30pm - 6.30pm will be Kwik Cricket group 1 (age 8-10/school year 3-5)
between 6.30pm - 7.30pm will be Kwik Cricket group 2 (age 8-10/school year 3-5)
Please note that both Kwik groups 1 & 2 will receive the same training and is not based on age or ability, so you can choose which time best suits you. If you could send me an email before the first session with your preferred time that would be great i.e.:
1. group 1 - 5.30 start
2. group 2 - 6.30 start
3. no preference
If you choose no preference I will let you know before the first session which group you have been allocated to as I would like to keep the groups fairly similar in size if possible.
On Friday night (hardball cricket):
Starting 11 Jan - between 6.00pm - 7pm will be u10/u11/u12's groups (age 9-12/school year 4-7)
between 7.00pm - 8pm will be u12/u13 groups (age 12-13/school year 7-8)
As last year u11's were our biggest group, we may need to split them up between the 6pm & 7pm groups. Although this is not ideal its important players get time to practice. At this stage I am looking for u12 volunteers to join the 6pm hardball group, if you could send me an email confirmation that would be great.
The u14 & u15s (school years 9 & 10) will train on a Sunday at Trent College from 13 January 7.30pm - 8.30pm. Please contact Rich Henson/Neil Stentiford for more details.
Players who moved groups either all stars to kwik or from kwik to the hardball transition group before the end of the summer programme will start winter training in the group which they finished in i.e the new group. If you have any queries please let me know.
Some players may be asked to move between sessions as training progresses and as players improve and require greater challenge. In the past, some parents have chosen for their children to continue with a 'lower challenge' session even when they 'move up' – this is an option to be discussed on an individual basis.
The (price per session) fees will be £35 for all the sessions which is for the full 12 week course.
Payment can be made either by cheque (Attenborough Cricket Club) or cash at your first session. Alternatively, you can pay through a PayPal link on our website www.attenborough-cc.org under Payments on the right hand side of the Home page - just select junior winter nets (hardball) or Winter Training (Kwiks) and be sure to enter your child's name in the box provided. You can also choose whether to pay by PayPal or a debit card. A membership form is also required to be completed online here is the link, or handed in on the first night.
Notification of cancellation of training sessions due to inclement weather will be made via our junior website www.attenborough-cc-juniors.blogspot.co.uk no later than 30 minutes prior to the start time.
To book your child's place you can either do this in advance by paying through the website and completing a membership form or, alternatively, pay and hand in the form on the first night. Please ensure your child attends the correct age group session.
If you have any questions then please come back to me. Everyone is welcome including new players.
