Weekend report 11th June

The 1s were at home against Plumtree, winning the toss they batted first found the going tough and were rolled over for 89 with the stand alone effort of Byron Haycock 52*. They looked like they could make half a game of it having the visitors 3 down for 43 runs but that hope was dashed as they knocked the remaining 46 runs of for the loss of no further wickets, full scorecard here. The 2s played away to Ellerslie batting first they posted 201 Sam Clulow 68 leading the way. Ellersile made light work of the chase reaching the target with only the loss of 2 wickets with a couple of overs to spare, full scorecard here. The 3s travelled to Southwell and registered the clubs only victory that day, batting first they posted 218-5 with Finely Meakin scoring 77 supported by 40s each by Collin McConnell and Richard Henson. A professional performance with the ball knocking over Southwell for 138 the wickets shared but Charlie Simkiss the pick with 3-22, full scorecard here. The 4s were at long lane bowling first they bowled Wollerton out for 136 with Gorden Airey 3-22 and three run outs in the innings. In reply the 4s struggled with no one really getting in and ended up 90-8 of their 40 overs, full scorecard here.
Next week sees the 1s away to Cuckney, the 2s at home to Belvoir, the 3s at long lane against Bottesford, and the 4s travel to Bramcote. The Sundays sides are in action the 1s at home against Rainbows and the 2s away to Thrumpton, good luck to all...
