The NPL began this week and our 1st pulled off a surprising and impressive win against West Indies Cavaliers. Batting first Attenborough posted 280-6 with Tom Moores 103 leading the way with his first ton at the strand, he was supported by Ben Bhabra 57 and Chris Allcoat 49. Then the bowlers secured the 20 points by bowling Cavaliers for 215 Ben B staring with 5-60. Sunday saw back to back T20s, first was the 1st team against Plumtree. Plumtree posted 165 in their 20 overs and then bowled the 1st out for 85 bringing them back down to earth after Saturdays highs. Then the Sunday 1s went against Young Lions, batting first they posted 135-7, runs from Pete Bateman and Will Shields both scoring 30*. Then they secured the win by restricting the Lions to 113-8, Charlie Simkiss and Martin Rayner with 2 wickets a piece. Next week sees the Saturday 1st trip to Mansfield Hosiery Mills and the 2nd starting their season with Balderton at home. Two Sunday games also, the 1s at home against Ellerslie and the 2s away at Sutton on the Hill CC.
