Byron Haycock heading to Attenborough

Attenborough have signed talented South African left-handed batsman Byron Haycock for the 2016 season, hoping he can help the Club make a swift return to the NPL.

Haycock (23) topped the Derbyshire County League Division 2 run charts last summer for West Hallam White Rose, scoring 689 runs at 86.

In previous years in the UK Byron has played in Hampshire for Southern Premier League club Andover where he struck 487 runs at 44 in Division 1. However it was his 2013 season that put him in the limelight, when he struck five centuries en-route to a record-breaking 1,045 runs averaging 95 for Waterlooville helping them to promotion in County League Division One.

In South Africa Haycock has represented the Warriors Cubs along with the SWD Emerging Squad and, since leaving school, has played Premier 1st XI cricket for George CC and Van der Stel CC in Stellenbosch's Boland Premier League.
