Saturday Results Round Up

Just when you thought it can't get any better - it does!

A full house of four wins for our Saturday sides.

The 1s recorded a 3 wicket win at Notts Academy.  After reducing their opponents to 156 for 6 we were probably a little disappointed to see them put on 70 for the 7th wicket to finish with 226 for 6.  Ben Bhabra was once again amongst the wickets with 3 for 45.  In reply at 64 for 4 we were in trouble but Matt Cross who finished unbeaten with 122 (a maiden century that included 14 4s and 3 6s for the Club from our Scottish international wicketkeeper) and great supporting innings from Ben Bhabra 25 and Thom Murray 24 guided us to within 38 runs with 3 wickets left.  With nerves jangling Matt Cross and Andy Simkiss took us through for the win that moves us up to 2nd in the table behind Caythorpe and only denied top spot on number of winning draws.
Will Shields 63*
For the 2s there was yet another routine win that we've become so accustomed to over the last year or two.  Gedling Colliery elected to bat first and were restricted to just 190 for 9 from their 48 overs.  Sam Clulow 4 for 37 and Jai Jandu 3 for 56 taking the bowling honours. A score that must have been around 80 short of par was very unlikely to be defended and Will Shields with an unbeaten 63, Chris Allcoat 53 and Allan Moss 38 proved the point by surpassing the visitor's score with more than 8 overs and 6 wickets to spare.  The win moves the team 14 points clear at the top of SNCL Division C.

Pete Bateman 118*
Tom Shields 5-25
For the 3s Pete Bateman goes from strength to strength.  In a massive score of 295 for 2 Pete built on his 70 last week with an unbeaten 118 runs; another maiden century.  Skipper Sam Randall and Nick Anderson-Pearce were also in the runs with 71 and 50 respectively.  Hoveringham, taking a leaf out of Bramcote's book from last week were skittled in double quick time for just 62 with Tom Shields whipping 5 out for 25 ably supported by George Barker 3 for 30 and Arjun Sandhu 2 for 3.  Lots of jugs in this game!  Unbeaten in 2015 the team remain top of SNCL Division J, 3 points ahead of Chilwell.

Howard Turney, Andy Waddle & Carl Knight
At Wymeswold the 4s were set a more than challenging 213 to win but then sailed past it with 8 wickets to spare.  An unbeaten 88 from Carl Knight supported by Bomber Harris 55 and Andy Waddle 38* secured the win with 6 overs to spare.  Despite the win the team drop down to 2nd in SNCL Division M by a single point from Collingham but well clear of third.
