Well done boys! There are more photos of post match celebrations here.
In the game itself the win couldn't have been more convincing with Cavaliers bowled out for just 96 with a first 6 wicket haul for Andy Simkiss (6 - 11) and 3 for 25 for Stanny Simon. The reply from Attenborough was brutal as the runs were knocked off in 9 overs with Thom Murray making 53 of them.
Fantastic achievement by the Club's 2nd XI who, in beating Gedling Colliery, finished the season as Champions of Division D with a 100% record. After being asked to bat on a tricky looking wicket at Woodborough a vitally patient start from Pete Turner (28) and Pete Bateman (25) laid the foundation for an assault from Gordon Airey who finished with 74 not out in a total of 171 for 8. The game looked to be up as Gedling Colliery slipped to 112 for 8 with Chris Allcoat bagging 3 for 12 in 10 overs before a late rally brought the home side to within 19 runs. Scorecard
The 3rds went down to a heavy defeat against Hucknall with only a dogged innings from Matt Shaw (21) carrying the score to just 68 from a pitiful 11 for 5. Hucknall knocked off the runs for the loss of only two wickets. The 3rds finish a creditable 5th in the table. Scorecard
The 4ths went down to an equally defeat in replying with just 71 in reply to Gedling Colliery's intimidating 209 for 8. After looking to be possible promotion contenders earlier in the season they finish 6th in the table. Scorecard
