The 1sts had a convincing win over Balderton to maintain their 12 point lead over Hucknall at the top of Division A. Alec McKinlay was once again the thorn in Balderton's side as he smashed an unbeaten 114 out of 217 for 9 to take his aggregate against Balderton this year to 310. Ben Bhabra then ripped the heart out of the visitor's batting with a 4 wicket haul as Balderton could only muster 65.
The 2nds maintained their unbeaten table-topping record with a 6 wicket win at Bramcote. With rain threatening the game was reduced to 32 overs per side and Bramcote could only manage 112 for 7 with some tight bowling from Martin Rayner and Charlie Simkiss. Pete Turner (25) and Pete Bateman (29) made a solid start adding over 50 for the first wicket before a flurry of wickets. It was left to Albert Gardiner (29*) to see us home for 18 points. Scorecard
It's first versus second next week at The Strand as we entertain Gedling Colliery. The 2nds are already guaranteed a top two finish and a win next week will go a long way to seeing them crowned Division D champions.
The 3rds game was reduced to a T20 at Long Lane with Bramcote this time the visitors. Bramcote managed 84 for 6 with Sam Henson leading the wicket takers with 3 for 22. Colin McConnell (38) and Josh Knight gave us a good start before the target was reached with 7 wickets and almost a full 2 overs in hand. Scorecard
The 3rds assured their Division J status as they also moved up a place to 7th.
The 4ths game at Eastwood lasted only a handful of overs before being abandoned due to the rain.
