There was mixed fortune for our Sunday sides with the 1st XI going down to a heavy defeat at Kimberley whilst the 2nd XI had a win against Wanderers at The Strand.
At Kimberley we struggled to 117 all out with only Albert Gardiner (31) and a late flourish from Peter Bateman (23 not out) saving our embarrassment. Kimberley knocked off the runs in straightforward fashion in 28 overs without losing a wicket. The defeat leaves the team in 7th position in Division 2 of the Newark Club Cricket Alliance level on points with the three teams below them. Scorecard
The 2nds scored 166 for 7 wickets with Rod Kitching (47) and Dave Harris (37) leading the way. Wanderers were always struggling in their reply and limped along to 122 for 9 with two wickets apiece for Rod Kitching, Serge Sandhu and Thom Murray.
