Saturday Results

Mixed fortunes for our sides today with 2 wins, a losing draw and a loss.

In the local derby with Long Eaton the visitors had the best of things as our 1sts held on for a losing draw.

The 2s contunued on their dominant, unbeaten run as they amassed 304 for 8 at Farndon with Chris Allcoat improving on his already impressive form with 104 including 16 4s and 1 6 in an innings that lasted 94 balls - his first three figure haul for the club.  He was well supported by Gordon Airey with 62 and a quickfire 59 from Jack Harrison 59 off just 26 balls with 6 4s and 4 6s.  Tom Shields (3 for 44) and Charlie Simkiss (3 for 55) were the pick of the bowlers in Farndon's reply of 227 all out. Scorecard

There was a welcome win for the 3s as they managed 263 for 4 with Charlie Smith smashing 111 and 45 unbeaten runs for Mark Bateman.  Balderton had no answer to Colin McConnell's spinning guile as he finished with 3 for 8 as the visitors could muster only 129. Scorecard

The 4s went down to a surprising 68 run defeat at Kirkby Portland as they were bowled out for just 75 with only Stephen Gray impressing with 30. George Barker was the pick of the bowlers with 4 for 41 in Kirkby's total of 143 all out.
