A good weekend for our Saturday teams with three wins out of four.
A personal triumph for Alec McKinlay at Calverton with a fantastic 168 out of a mammoth 280 for 7. Calverton, perhaps unsurprisingly, fell a long way short, losing by 148 runs with Martin Rayner claiming 3 for 20. Scorecard
The 2nds maintained their unbeaten start and top spot in the league with a maximum points return against Kinoulton. On a wicket where runs were hard to come by, Richard Henson led the way with 65 in a total of 190 for 9. Jai Jandu and Tom Shields put the visitors under early pressure reducing them to 11 for 3. A partial recovery was abruptly ended by 16 year old Jai's return as he trapped Kinoulton's leading running scorer LBW and then polished off the tail to finish with 5 for 23. Scorecard
The 3rds were less successful against Keyworth where the league leaders amassed 215 for 6 with Matt Hubbard claiming 3 for 34. Skipper Sam Randall top scored in the reply with half the side's runs as they could only reach 157 all out to lose by 58 runs. Scorecard
A very low scoring game at Long Lane saw West Bridgfordians 4ths bowled out for just 37 with another 16 year old, James Binnie, claiming his first 5 fer for the Club with 5 for just 8 runs. The required runs were knocked off for the loss of 3 wickets. Scorecard
